than 30 years of experience in all aspects of video and film
production has given J D Freedman a depth of technical expertise and
creative accomplishment that you can count on to insure the success
of your next production.
As
a union gaffer in New York City, JD started Starlight Productions,
which grew into a million dollar company that provided sound stages,
lighting trucks, crew and equipment for everything from Spike Lee’s
music videos to movies starring Nicholas Cage.
JD
then transitioned to the production side of the industry. After
years of freelance producing, he accepted a staff position with
Multi-Media Productions as the supervising producer of World Business
Review. JD brought the show from the conceptual stage through completion, overseeing all aspects of the production and worldwide distribution of
this multi-million-dollar business and technology series.
At
3MD Design Studios in Miami Beach J D was in charge of sales and
production. In this capacity he developed working relationships with
new clients including MTV, Discovery Channel, and The Cisneros Group
and produced a segment for “Holy Man,” a $60-million-dollar
feature film starring Eddie Murphy, Kelly Preston and Jeff Goldbloom.
JD’s hands-on production style and technical expertise has served his clients on location from Fiji to Hong Kong, offering creative options and budget-stretching insights that result in achieving higher production values.
JD studied film production at the University of Southern California and Northwestern University and has taught lighting seminars and video production at a number of different schools including The School of Visual Arts in NYC and Massey University in Auckland.
